Learning from nature to create the future we actually want, with Michel Wolfstirn

Oct 19, 2022

Almost by accident Michel Wolfstirn started his career as a mechanical engineer in the oil industry in Norway. Until he completely changed lanes in 2015.
Now he divides his time between his startup SquareRoot and biomimicry / circular economy consulting services.

Michel is co-founder of BiomimicryNorway and a Certified Circulab Consultant. He spreads this knowledge through workshops in circular economy internationally and as a public speaker. Biomimicry is innovation inspired by nature and a topic I find extremely fascinating! Nature has this amazing way of solving challenges in an elegant way, and we have so much to learn from it. For example; there is no waste in nature – every leaf and every pebble has its purpose. How can we look at the way nature has figured things out through billions of years and find solutions for all the challenges facing us today?

Startup life

SquareRoot is a startup dedicated to catalyzing green space creation to make cities climate resilient. As every entrepreneur knows, this journey is rewarding, but not easy. Michel shares how the people around him as well as the way he is able to contribute, drives him and makes him look forward to every new day.

He is the author of the online course Design with Biomimicry at the Circulab Academy.

Michel is the perfect example of how we can reinvent ourselves and find more alignment between what we do for a living and our own values.

My conversation with Michel is so packed with inspiration for everyone who wants to try another path, and we didn’t manage to cover everything in this episode.
If you want to know more about his work, you can get in touch on LinkedIn.
